On December 20 2013 “Aspro” motor vessel went ground in an approach channel on its way from Azov port Eisk. Given the significant loss of draft, local tugboats failed to take the vessel from the ground.
The situation required immediate involvement of a powerful tugboat and a floating crane, as possible ice drift from Taganrog bay could be a serious threat to the grounded vessel. The rescue operation continued later in the day after 2640-h.p. tugboat “Portoviy-101” and 16-ton “PK-136” floating crane were engaged to the site.
The operation took just 4,5 hours to complete due to the coordinated efforts of «Transship» and all the rescue teams involved.
