“Puccini” barge towed from Azov port (Russia) to Astakos port (Greece).

The 2600-hp marine tugboat “Gepard” operated by Donmar has towed “Puccini” residential barge from Azov port (Russia) to Astakos port (Greece). It took 9 days to do the 1122 marine mile track though highly diverse and rapidly changing weather conditions: from below-zero temperatures and close ice of Taganrog bay, to the warm waters of Ionian Sea.

The procession went through 2 channels and 2 straits. One of the most challenging stages was the Corinth strait – with a length of 6 km, it has a depth of just 8 m and width of 25 m.
